Anti-Spam measures
Below are the measures Primex takes to reduce Spam.
You may have been sent to view this page if you are
trying to send an email to one of our customers and it isnt getting through. If you are a customer of Primex then the below information should explain everything spam related.
Blocking incoming emails...
If people are trying to send an email to either Primex or a customer of Primex then please note that we only accept
emails from sources that are setup properly. This means that the IP address that your email comes from must have a valid hostname
and a rDNS assignment. The two must also match. If emails aren't arriving and they are sent directly from your broadband connection or you have your own mailserver in your office then
the below information will show you how you are setup.
Results of connection test...
Your Internet Connection address is: 38.107.191.102
The Hostname for your address is: ERROR: No hostname setup
We will not accept emails from you because the hostname isnt setup properly.
* Please note, these results are only meaningful IF you send emails directly from your broadband connection and have your own mail server in your office. If you send emails via your ISP then your emails wont be blocked.
Spamassassin...
Primex uses a programme called Spammassassin to check every incoming email to see if it is spam or not. Every user / mailbox on our servers has the ability to setup whitelists and blacklists
and also to be able to delete an email marked as spam automatically or have it forwarded elsewhere.
Anti-spam measures are included for all Primex customers who have POP3 or IMAP4 email (a standard email account).
