Alnwick Markets

There have been markets held in Alnwick for hundreds of years. From 19th April 2006 the Alnwick Markets will be under new management, a partnership between two local social enterprises, Local Living and Alnwick Community Development Trust. Local traders will also be represented on the Steering Group of Alnwick Markets. Come into the Market Place to find a bargain and talk to the traders – many have been selling at the Markets on every Thursday and Saturday for years. At the Farmers’ Markets on the last Friday of each month you can meet the producers and ask where and how the foods on sale are grown, reared, caught, brewed, baked or processed and about the materials used and traditions of craft work. Find some locally made arts, crafts and foods at the Country Markets on Sundays in the summer. Special events include a French Markets in July and a Continental Market in August. Alnwick is easy to access by public transport and car. Alnwick Markets are run by Local Living in partnership with Alnwick Community Development Trust

Local Living

Local Living was founded in August 2005 by a group of local entrepreneurs who brought BizFizz to Alnwick. Local Living is what is commonly known as a not-for-profit company, ie the directors are unpaid and do not hold shares. However we prefer the term 'for more than profit'. For more information see management and membership section. Local Living (LL) aims to bring jobs and economic opportunities to North Northumberland and is guided by a set of principles. LL operates as a business and aims to make a profit. However, as LL is a social enterprise, any profits will be reinvested in projects to bring about more jobs and more economic opportunities.

Quotes and Adwords

The position and frequency of your Adwords is determined by how much you are prepared to pay per click and your daily budget. With Google you only incur a cost if someone clicks on your advert and if no-one searches on your keywords or clicks on your advert you won't incur any costs. Unlike being listed in the actual search engine results, where competition for the top spot is determined by the content and popularity of your web site, you can be listed on the first page, at the top, if you are prepared to pay for the privilege. We can manage your campaign with specific goals in mind such as being listed top, 1st/2nd, top 4 or top 8.

Woburn Sands Local website

Woburn Sands retains the charm of a place that is half-urban, half-rural. It is a thriving residential area, much of it surrounded by beautiful woodland. The range of high-street shops is surprisingly extensive. Here you will find that village-type atmosphere, all that you may need for everyday living, service with old-style courtesy, and personal attention from all the businesses listed in this guide. The town (though we are hardly a large one!) is easy to reach, whether you live locally or are coming from afar. If you are driving, you can park right outside the shops or in two car parks just off the High Street or in some of the nearby roads. Most people who live locally know and support the businesses listed here; they also make full use of an extensive range of services. Their support is valued and is vital to the continued prosperity of the district and its sense of community.

Real Life Toys

The very first 'Do It Yourself' motorized scale model wooden car, launched in 1987 under the banner of 'Robert's Wooden Car Company', was the little single seat vintage Mayfair. In 1988 the Geepstar arrived and the company became Real Life Toys. There are well over 3000 of these tough, safe little cars worldwide and probably as many Mayfairs too. Other models have been developed; the most popular of which is the Toylander in either Series I or Series II, based upon the original Land Rover ©. This is also our biggest car and will take up to four children. I'm 6'2" and 15 stone and I drive it too!
